BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE

Stephen is an Assistant Professor of Strategic Public Health Communication at USIU–Africa in Nairobi, Kenya. He has led public health communication initiatives in areas such as reproductive health, emergency risk communication, and behavior change. Formerly Director of Strategic Communication at Kenya’s NETFUND, he oversaw communication strategy, media relations, and donor engagement. Stephen is a published qualitative researcher specializing in evidence synthesis and AI-powered analysis tools. He has trained NGO practitioners and mentored graduate students in MEAL. His career also includes leadership roles in academia, publishing, journalism, and professional training, contributing to strategic communication across sectors.

A skilled communications specialist with strengths in strategic messaging, media relations, and public engagement. Holds a Diploma in Journalism (Kenya Institute of Mass Communication) and a Bachelor’s in International Relations & Diplomacy (Riara University). BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE

Dr. George Mwaniki is the Head of Air Quality at WRI Africa, based in Addis Ababa, where he works with stakeholders across the continent to improve air quality and reduce its health, ecological, and economic impacts. He has consulted on air quality and climate finance for multiple African countries and institutions, including UNEP and UNFCCC. George previously led the implementation of UNEA’s air pollution resolution and has worked with organizations like IFAD, EPA, ACTS, and various universities. He holds a PhD in Environmental Science from Washington State University, a master’s in Environmental Engineering, and a BSc in Environmental and Bio-systems Engineering.

He is also a columnist, and a journalism and media studies lecturer at The Technical University of Kenya. BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE

Ahmed Hassan is an applied Development Economist and Public Policy Analyst specializing in Public Financial Management (PFM), PEFA, and fiscal governance in fragile and conflict-affected settings. He has worked extensively across Somalia with Federal and State governments, NGOs, and international donors on public sector reforms, budgeting, and accountability. Ahmed previously served as Economic Advisor to the U.S. Embassy in Somalia, guiding economic policy and diplomatic engagement. His work spans major projects funded by USAID, the EU, the World Bank, and the Global Fund.

Gordon Odhiambo is a Development Communication and Diplomacy Specialist skilled in storytelling, digital media, and strategic communication. He has worked with IPF, AFRODAD, and the Kenya Revenue Authority on media relations, policy engagement, and international diplomacy. His background spans humanitarian work, public service, and broadcast media, including Kirk Television and Mediamax. Gordon is adept at stakeholder engagement, team training, and digital collaboration tools. He holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s in International Studies from the University of Nairobi and is pursuing postgraduate studies in Migration.
