Where We Work

One Stop Development Agency focuses on 23 Counties that comprise the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) region of Kenya and whose population is generally the most food, water and sanitation insecure given the high level of poverty, high vulnerability to shock and hazards, particularly climatic shocks linked to rainfall variability.

The area covers approximately 80 percent of Kenya’s landmass and is categorised into five (5) Livelihood Zones (LZs)

428,385

Square Kilometers
out of 582,646 SqKm, representing 73.5% of Kenya's land mass.

10,406,988

Population
Out of 48,000,000, representing 21.7% of the population as per the 2019 Kenya Population and Household Survey. The low ASAL population is attributed to challenges in development and inclusivity.
