The realisation of One Stop Development Agency (ODA) mission depends on its capacity to implement the strategic programmes and activities defined in its strategy. Organisational Capacity in this context entails human capacity, systems and processes, and infrastructure. Towards this end, we aim to build the organisation‘s capacity to accelerate and sustain its programmes and activities. Through this, we strive to establish a responsive, efficient, effective, transparent, and accountable results-based system, focusing on both short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals. In particular, we aim to enhance our staffing in terms of the numbers and skills; establish effective governance processes through the development of policies and procedures; and build a strong infrastructure that integrates technology. We will enhance our capacity through forging partnerships with different stakeholders.
Climate change is not a distant threat but a daily reality in the ASALs of Kenya. ASALs have borne the brunt of climate change, ranging from prolonged droughts to severe floods that have disrupted traditional livelihoods and exacerbated the existing vulnerabilities.
In Kenya’s Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs), access to clean water and sanitation is not merely a matter of convenience but a critical factor in climate resilience and community well-being. The harsh realities of climate change, including prolonged droughts, high temperatures and unpredictable rainfall patterns, have intensified water stress, posing significant risks to the well-being and livelihoods of ASALs communities.
We are cognisant of the foundational value of good governance to the development of the Kenyan society. The National Values and Principles in the Constitution of Kenya 2010, as the enablers of a prosperous society that respects the rule of law and human dignity, can only have a meaningful impact in an environment of good governance.
